Higher Education
Higher Education is a lively rock-reggae band from College Park, Maryland. The power trio has made their presence known in the DMV with several residencies at popular venues and bars in the area. Brothers, Petey and Danny Devaney with Bradley Wilson have integrated both reggae vibes and psychedelic inspirations into the electricity of rock and roll. Influences include Sublime, Nirvana, and Jimi Hendrix.
At the heart of their music, HigherEdu is two bands in one. Brothers switch between playing lead guitar, vocals, backup vocals, and bass. Bradley, inspired by Tim "Herb" Alexander and Vinny Paul, keeps the tempo tight in the pocket. HigherEdu values the power music has in bringing people together. The band hopes to create albums and perform live shows in which their fans can simply have a good time.
Their debut album "Chasing Highs" was released in 2013, recently HigherEdu
released their second album, "Would You Like Fries With That?" While the former it heavily reggae based, the new album, "Would You like Fries With That?" combines all their new flavors for a heady, groovy, rock feel that is dance worthy yet heavily layered.
